WARKOCZEWSKI TELESCOPE
Royall Hall University of Missouri at Kansas City

Return to the Main Menu

The Warkoczewski Observatory telescope at UMKC is open on most clear Friday evenings at dusk for viewing of the moon, planets, bright star clusters and nebulae. This is a nice 16" telescope, and is operated by the Astronomical Society of Kansas City. The very high light pollution level in downtown Kansas City puts some practical limits in viewing dim objects like galaxies. On the other hand, itÂ’s close and free! The observatory is located on the roof of Royall Hall. Wear warm clothing to enjoy the viewing!

Schedule Nights
The Observatory is open every Friday night that it is clear
from May through October
