Launch of the Space Shuttle Endeavour
For years Grant and a good friend had been "dreaming and talking" about going to a Space Shuttle launch. However, they also hoped for a night launch and a premium viewing location. In the Fall of 2009 they finally stopped "talking" and started planning for the February 2010 launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour. Grant shares their story and experiences via a power point presentation at the August 28 General Meeting. Grant Miller is your average ASKC member with a passion for the sky, both day and night. He conducts astronomy outreach events at Knob Noster State Park, in his community, and at local schools. He considers himself a low level intermediate astronomer with much to learn, forget, and relearn. Grant currently works as a civil servant and lives in Warrensburg, Missouri with his wife, Ramona, and their five children. |
